Beware the Roomba

familiar with roomba's, the robot vacuum cleaners? so the house i am housesitting has one, and early this morning i turned it on so it could vacuum around the first floor. welllll.....evidently on of the dogs pooped in its path! so the roomba hit it, sucked it into the vacuum (cleaning it out of there will be really fun), and tracked it all over the house. the roomba is very clever and will go back and forth over an area until it senses it is free of dirt, so as it tracked dogshit throughout the house it went back and forth in little circles, so now a fine microlayer patina of shit was is perfectly applied throughout the entire first floor, as if it were buffing wax. super!!

One of my favorite interfaces right now

Kayak.com has a great interface for finding airline tickets. I can't say enough: I like the simplicity, the sliders when you do a search, the saved (and easy to change) searches even when you log off, and of course, the maps, which also include a great slider.

Above all, though, I like the direct link to the airline's site, which means no $5 or $10 fee. With the savings I can afford to buy a bag of chips at the airport. Or a small coke.
