The Seattle Times: Court ruling aids Costco's state liquor-law challenge
Go Costco! Washington has a silly mandatory markup law that makes out of state wine and beer unnecessarily expensive by forcing stores to buy from a middleman and for both stores and the middleman to mark wine and beer up by a minimum of 10%. If they want to keep the price high to keep consumption low, raise taxes and put the proceeds towards free rehab. Giving profits away to middlemen is ridiculous. The Chuck yearns to be Two Buck.

Marketplace: Alaska wants its natural gas NOW
Alaska is trying to force the oil companies to extract natural gas faster. This is possibly the first case of long term thinking by oil companies and they are being punished for it. Is it immoral to save for the future? Maybe they think natural gas will be worth more in 10 years, in which case they would like to extract it then. Alaska should encourage and even legislate slower extraction - it's good for the environment and for the long term financial stability of Alaska.
